hi there! Where can I buy betel leaf plant in perth? thnks.

Hey. Need for a bit of care here as there are 2 plants we're coming to call betel leaf: one chewed in Asia with betel nut for a hit (Piper betle) and one used as food wrapping in Thai cooking (Piper sarmentosum). A couple of on-line sources (All Rare Herbs & Shaman Australis) seem to be out of stock of the latter. Might be worth pursuing but can't guarantee they'd send it to WA.
If you can find a fresh bunch on their stems at the market, it might be easiest to grow your own. Reports are that the stems root readily if the lower leaves are cleaned up, bottom of the stem cut and then kept moist.

Thnks for getting back....I meant the one used for food wrapping in Thai cooking. Will check the online sources and also keep a look out in the mkt and try growing them and let you know how I go :)
