I am not much of a green thumb although I love being in a beautiful garden. I have a small 1x0.5m space I would like to turn into a Fairy Garden for my little girl. It gets sun in summer but full shade in winter. The plant selector is great but any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Putting 'fairy' into the selector plant name search comes up with some good possibilities.
I loved the tiered flowers of fairy primroses or primulas as a child. They are quick-growing annuals for seasonal colour which would be flowering even before spring.
Fairy fishing rods or dierama are slower growing bulbs with bell flowers hanging from invisible stems.
Fairy lights milkwort is a colourful little shrub for small space.
All these come in those lolly pinks little girls love.
It's packing a lot into a small space but I would also think about things for the senses like flower scent (maybe jonquils), foliage aroma (smaller salvias like Salvia greggii), touch (furry lamb's ears/Stachys byzantina) and taste (alpine strawberries).
